5 Tips to Manage Anxiety During Election Season

𝟭. 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘂𝗺𝗽𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻: It's easy to feel overwhelmed by the constant flow of news and social media updates. Set specific times for checking news or updates, and try to limit scrolling. Take breaks from social media to recharge.
𝟮. 𝗦𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗣𝗲𝗼𝗽𝗹𝗲: Surround yourself with friends and family who help you feel grounded and understood. Talking about your concerns can ease tension, and being around positive influences can help reduce stress.
𝟯.𝗘𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗣𝗵𝘆𝘀𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗔𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆: Exercise is a great way to manage stress. Take a walk, do some stretching, or try a quick workout. Physical movement releases endorphins, which can lift your mood and reduce anxiety.
𝟰. 𝗙𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗖𝗮𝗻 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗹: Concentrate on actions you can take, like voting or educating yourself on the issues that matter to you. Feeling proactive can be empowering and help combat feelings of helplessness.
𝟱. 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗹𝗮𝘅𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗻𝗶𝗾𝘂𝗲𝘀: Use deep breathing, meditation, or grounding exercises to calm your mind. Apps like Calm or Headspace can be useful, or simply take a few deep breaths when feeling anxious.
